Time's Up (2023)

The subject matter of my painting was a person slowly getting submerged in a pool of clocks as more clocks fall on the person's head. The painting represents the passing and ending of time. The person in the clock pool awaits as more clocks fall on him and into the pool till he is fully submerged in the clock pool, which represents the end of his time. The clock pool represents time that has passed away, and the clocks falling on the person represent time that is passing by. I chose this topic because it represents how I’m feeling right now. I’m almost about to graduate high school, but it feels like high school has gone by very fast. I still remember the high school orientation, and thinking of all the big plans I had for the next four years, and now all of that is nearly over. I’m not going to lie, I never liked school, but now I don’t want it to end. I don't just wanna leave the experience of high school behind, but I also don't want to leave all the new friends I made behind. But this is just how life is, time passes, and that's the nature of things.
