RUQAYA ALJUBOORI - NATURE THROUGH THE WINDOW

Nature through the window. I’ve painted this art piece, and I’ve used a fine tip sharpie, some coloured pencils and that’s about it. As I’ve been making my painting, I’ve learned many techniques throughout. I’ve learned to start from the background and continue to the front. I’ve learned the wooden frame should’ve been the last thing I’ve painted since I kept accidentally painting on it. It was annoying.
My artwork portrays Nature. Just nature in general, trees, the sun, bushes, some birds all through a window. I’ve used different values of colors, especially for my bushes. I’ve painted different patterns, overpainted my bushes, my trees, etc. Some challenges I’ve come across were trying to “paint” the background. I should’ve started by painting the background, that should’ve been the first thing I’d had to do. I’ve also had some trouble figuring out how to blend in the coloured pencils, after deciding I should color the background with coloured pencils on a canvas. The wooden frame in the canvas turned out unexpectedly nice. The trees with the golden swirls were vibrant and brought the painting together. The birds were the easiest to make, but I love how they turned out. I’ve used many different colours for my artwork. I’ve painted many different values, starting from the bushes in the background and it became brighter everytime it got closer to the front. The same as the trees. I have painted many swirls on my bushes, two front trees, and on the sun. I have created emphasis, from the two trees with golden swirls. I have created rhythm and movement with the swirls almost everywhere in the painting.
