This piece explores the nature of repetition. We all seem to mindlessly complete the same tasks each and every day. To reflect on our lives from an outside perspective can be overwhelming, especially thinking about how we will be completing some of the same tasks every day for the rest of our lives. This ideology also challenges us to think about why we choose to do the things we do, is it out of genuine necessity, or do we sometimes do things out of the fear of judgment and rejection from society? This piece depicts a girl applying makeup in the bathroom mirror. Even though we may not always apply makeup solely for the purpose of personal enjoyment, it’s sometimes easier to keep those types of habits, rather than have the courage to break free from them.
