This piece is inspired by the nature of life, and how every soul will have entered through the door to life, and exited through the door to their afterlife. Above the water is meant to represent life; a bright warm place with so many possibilities. Under the water shows the afterlife; a darker place with more mysteries than we’ve yet explored. We don't yet know who is above the water when we first enter. They are yet to be met, yet to be known. But in the afterlife, we have at least an angel waiting for us; thus the odd reflection in the water beside the door.
