I created this painting with the word "curious" in mind because when I was younger I would always wonder, why the sky was blue or the grass was green. Now that I'm older I don't really question those things anymore. I like that everyday when I wake up, the sky will be blue and the grass, even when deep under the snow, will still be green. I think we have gotten so used to our lives and the world around us staying exactly the same that even with the slightest change or disruption, it feels like the whole world has gone out of balance. We can't picture any other world than the one we're in right now. But what if one day the grass wasn't green, it was red? Or the sun wasn't yellow, it was purple? My painting represents the opportunity for change. Beyond that door is not a completely new place, simply a world slightly different than what we're used to. It's change, some is good change, some is bad. But we can't be afraid to be curious about what that change may lead to.
