Trapped in a Virus (2023)

For this piece, I was inspired to illustrate the emotions and feelings of being concealed and trapped in a depth of isolation. My main source of inspiration was Salvidor Dali as he portrayed similar felt emotions such as loneliness in his surrealistic compositions. He is known for breaking the barriers of traditional artwork and creating unique works that make the audience reflect on their lives. During the pandemic of Covid-19, individuals were challenged to reflect on their lives in many different ways. In my own piece, it showcases a teenage girl pondering reflections of how her personal life was altered during the pandemic. My mixed media creation is composed of photos that each showcase a different feeling and emotion illustrated from her imagination. I hope my bright and modern style captivates you and that you too may reflect on how your life was changed after the pandemic.
